I have always had a life-long fascination for Africa and have travelled the continent widely. It’s beautiful, but it’s mainly the people who keep me coming back.

As an art historian I love to tell real stories about real people and share experiences. However, over the years I have noticed that many people have stereotypical ideas about Africa and contemporary African art.

My goal is to confront these stereotypes and create a broader awareness about Africa’s diversity.  That’s why I’ve set up Urban Africans where you catch a glimpse of the diversity of everyday city life through the eyes of artists on the African continent.

Besides Urban Africans I lecture, give bogolan workshops and guide adventurous and cultural tours around the world.
