For a number of years we’ve organised student exchanges with Dutch and Malian students at the art academy (INA: Institut National des Arts) in Bamako, Mali: kunstnomade (art nomad).

Dutch art students learned the bogolan technique -painting with Malian mud- and worked together with their peers. They also taught art classes at the art academy (INA) and the American International School (AISB) in Bamako, Mali. The project was a collaboration between  the art academies of Bamako, Amsterdam and Tilburg.
